I just did some research on Towards the Medical Patient Record (TEPR+) Conference, which has been held by Medical Records Institute (MRInstitute) since 1984. Just by coincidence, this conference was actually held this week in Palm Springs, CA.
The MRInstitute website offers audio cast and other content, most of it available for a fee. It seems that they are currently very focused on cell phone based healthcare applications. Which sounds like a very interesting idea.
Most interestingly they offer an EMR Compare section were the EMR vendors have self-reported their system and this has been placed in a spreadsheet for rapid comparison. I took a quick look, there are 21 EMRs represented and two questions about recording immunizations. Not surprisingly there is no mention of immunization registiries.
